The Center on Global Energy Policy's Women in Energy program toured of the Con Edison – Murray Hill Station. Participants learned what a substation is: An auxiliary power station where electrical current is converted, and voltage is stepped up or down. They got to see an actual area substation – stepping down voltage from 138 to 13kV as well as breakers and transformers.

The tour was led by Lisa Primeggia, General Manager, Manhattan Electric Construction, Con Edison.
