BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2019

Past Event

June 12, 2019

9:30 am - 11:00 am

Demand for energy grew strongly in 2018 – why? And what does that mean for the energy transition? What significant events affected global energy markets last year? To address the questions above, the Center for Global Energy Policy will host Spencer Dale, BP Group Chief Economist, as he presents the findings of BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy 2019. Following his presentation, he will join Amy Myers Jaffe, Co-chair of CGEP’s Women in Energy Steering Committee and David M. Rubenstein senior fellow for energy and the environment and director of the Energy Security and Climate Change program at the Council on Foreign Relations, and Katherine Spector, CGEP Research Scholar, on a panel moderated by Jonathan Elkind, CGEP Senior Research Scholar. BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy provides an overview of what happened to energy markets in the prior year and a guide to future trends. Perhaps more importantly, it helps us better understand the complex world in which we operate and is considered of the most widely respected and highly anticipated global energy publications. Guests unable to attend in person can view a livestream of the event at energypolicy.columbia.edu/livestream. This event is open to press. Media should register for this event using the link above. Media inquiries or requests for interviews should be directed to Artealia Gilliard ([email protected]).
