Morningside Campus Access Updates

The following color-coded campus status levels have been developed to simplify communication regarding the current circumstances on and around the Morningside campus. The campus status level is based upon the potential disruption to our academic mission and/or campus operations. The status level will be adjusted up or down to reflect then-current circumstances, including information received from law enforcement and other sources regarding potential events that could affect Columbia. Continued adherence to university rules and policies remains fundamental to maintaining an open campus. Read more.

Kathryn Lattimer

Chief Operating Officer

Biography

Kathryn Lattimer is the Chief Operating Officer of the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University SIPA. She previously served as the Associate Dean for Strategic Projects and Innovation at Columbia Climate School, overseeing projects for the Founding Deans and the Finance and Administration’s office.

Before joining Columbia University, Kathryn worked for the NYC Department of Education for over 17 years, after starting her career as a pre-kindergarten teacher. With the DOE, she moved into administration to pursue her interest in policy and procedures around educational programs.

Throughout her tenure at the NYC Department of Education, she held various senior system-level administrative roles in which she applied her expertise in finance and administration, strategic planning, and large-scale project management. During the pandemic, she served as the agency’s Chief Restart Officer, developing and implementing the framework to bring staff back on-site while reducing the risk of COVID-19. Kathryn also participated in various fellowship and leadership development programs and co-founded DOE Moms, an Employee Resource Group that fosters a diverse and inclusive community of working mothers.

Kathryn graduated with honors from NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where she received her master’s in public administration in 2012. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Cortland with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and psychology. She is married and a proud mother to three wonderful children.
