Morningside Campus Access Updates

Updated July 10, 2024

The following color-coded campus status levels have been developed to simplify communication regarding the current circumstances on and around the Morningside campus. The campus status level is based upon the potential disruption to our academic mission and/or campus operations. The status level will be adjusted up or down to reflect then-current circumstances, including information received from law enforcement and other sources regarding potential events that could affect Columbia. Continued adherence to university rules and policies remains fundamental to maintaining an open campus. Read more.

WIE Workshop – Courageous Conversations: Speaking Your Truth from the Inside-Out

Past Event

April 3, 2017

8:00 am - 10:30 am

Please join the Women in Energy (WIE) program for an immersion workshop exploring the root of courageous conversations and how to handle them with confidence, poise, and presence. What makes a difficult conversation actually “difficult”? Our mindset and the stories we create around challenging situations (aka fear!) deeply affects our ultimate performance and impact. This session will help to excavate any limiting thought patterns that stand in the way of getting what you want – no matter what the conversation entails. One of the key outputs that we will create during the workshop will be your authentic “elevator pitch”. Once you are clear on what you stand for, what you say “yes” and “no” to, and how you decide on your non-negotiables, courageous conversations are something you might even look forward to! Lunch will be provided. This event is open only to current female grad students. Come on-time and for the duration of the session as the learning will be cumulative. **Since space is limited, RSVPs will be accepted on a first-come basis until capacity is reached. Please RSVP only if you can commit to attending the workshop.** For more information contact: [email protected]
