Energy Journalism Fellows Application

Energy Journalism Initiative

About

Taught by CGEP Scholars, Columbia faculty, and other academic, industry, and government experts, the Energy Journalism Fellowship (EJF), formerly known as the Energy Journalism Initiative, offers journalists the opportunity to learn about the intersecting disciplines shaping the global energy sector, including finance and markets, climate change, science and technology, policy, and geopolitics. Since its inception in 2017, EJF has enrolled 120 journalists from the U.S. and around the world.

EJF participants will gain a greater understanding of these topics, meet and learn from some of the world’s leading experts on these issues, and enhance their networks and reporting.

The program is open to journalists covering energy, climate, and the environment, with preference given to journalists with 5 or fewer years of experience on the beat. This program is free to journalists, including transportation and lodging for those who need it.

The 2024 seminar will be hosted in person in New York City from June 11-14 with presentations and opportunities for small group discussion and networking. To promote an educational experience, the Chatham House Rule will apply.
