Morningside Campus Access Updates

Updated July 10, 2024

The following color-coded campus status levels have been developed to simplify communication regarding the current circumstances on and around the Morningside campus. The campus status level is based upon the potential disruption to our academic mission and/or campus operations. The status level will be adjusted up or down to reflect then-current circumstances, including information received from law enforcement and other sources regarding potential events that could affect Columbia. Continued adherence to university rules and policies remains fundamental to maintaining an open campus. Read more.

Climate Week NYC Virtual Event | Powering an Equitable, Sustainable, and Just Global Energy Transition

Past Event

September 23, 2020

10:00 am - 11:30 am

An equitable, sustainable, and just global energy transition will not be possible without the broad and equal participation and leadership of women in all aspects of the energy industry. Yet worldwide, the energy industry continues to be one of the least gender inclusive segments of the global economy – women make up only 22% of the traditional energy workforce and 32% of the renewable energy workforce. We need all hands on deck and diverse ideas and innovations in order to realize critical climate and emissions reductions targets by 2050 and a clear plan of action to bridge the gaps and harness the full potential of women in energy. 2020 is a pivotal year in the global climate change efforts, and the Center on Global Energy Policy’s Women in Energy (WIE) program is pleased to host a dialogue with dynamic industry leaders who are making vital contributions towards the global energy transition. The expert speakers will share their contributions to the energy transition and engage in a candid discussion about the barriers to women’s equal participation that must be addressed in order to ensure a just and sustainable transition. Panelists include: — Maria S. Jelescu Dreyfus, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Ardinall Investment Management — Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Chief Sustainability, CSR and Communication Officer, ReNew Power — Adaku Ufere, Deputy Chief of Party, USAID-funded Power Africa West Africa Energy Program — Moderated by Laurie Fitzmaurice, Executive Director, Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA — This webinar will be hosted via Zoom. Advance registration is required. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with access details. The event will be recorded and the video recording will be added to our website following the event. This event is open to press, and registration is required to attend.
