Kevin Brennan is a Visiting Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University SIPA, focusing on the geopolitics, economics, and market dynamics of the energy transition. Kevin is Head of Commodities and Geopolitics Research at Bridgewater Associates, following two decades serving various executive leadership roles across Bridgewater, including nearly a decade as Director of Investment Systems, over five years as Co-Director of Research, and a year as Co-Head of Technology. He is a Partner at the firm and a regular author of Bridgewater’s Daily Observations, primarily covering geopolitical market dynamics and the commodity markets.
Prior to joining Bridgewater, Kevin worked as an actuary at the Equitable, earning a Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, and then as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Kevin received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Binghamton University. Kevin currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board at the Leadership Now Project, as well as on the board of the Center for Political Accountability. Kevin is also a Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
