Megren Almutairi is a graduate student researcher focusing on energy policy at the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) within Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). His primary focus lies in analyzing investments in clean energy within the MENA region and unraveling the complex interplay between geopolitics, national security, and finance in the energy sector. Megren has worked providing strategic analysis in advisory roles spanning various sectors, including central government, energy, and consulting. Additionally, Megren has worked in the oil and gas as well as petrochemical sectors, offering market analysis and facilitating the preparation of commercial energy agreements. Megren holds a BS in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, Canada.
